Hypnosis is often likened to being in a daydream, where you are fully conscious but
somewhat unaware of things and people around you and if you needed to be fully
aware you would become so immediately. Whenever you are fully focused, you are in hypnosis which happens to us naturally on a daily basis, like becoming engrossed in a good film, feeling what the character feels even though consciously you know it’s not real.
Hypnotherapy is when you are guided by the therapist to achieve a very focused state which in turn allows you to be receptive to positive suggestion. I works ethically and sensitively to allow you to gain the change you desire.
No one experience will be like another, it is a very individual thing, however, people find hypnosis a very pleasant experience. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, calm and yet excited and focused on the changes they’re making. It is important to remember that you are always in control.
What can I expect in a hypnotherapy session?
You can expect to make positive changes in the way you think and behave. Your willingness to engage in the process is the most important thing. How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?
It may be that a client needs four to six sessions to create lasting change. Some clients can achieve their goals in just one session. It is a very individual thing.
